In early 2016, I signed up to help Kane Williamson put together a book simply called Cricket with Kane Williamson: A Guide to Batting, Bowling, Fielding and Captaincy.
It was designed to help kids making their way in the game to navigate some of the technical aspects and mental pitfalls associated with this hellishly difficult sport.
I might be guilty of breaking some publishing omerta here, but nevertheless with distance I feel comfortable enough revealing that when I first sat down with Kane it was obvious he was a reluctant participant in the exercise.
