BLED CUP SPECIAL: Are you happy now?
Rating the ratings gets a little pointed in this newsletter for paying subscribers
Here’s a thing - not the thing, but definitely a thing. If, on August 7, you’d leaned over and whispered in the ear of your best mate, your significant other, your counsellor or your priest that the All Blacks would win the Rugby Championship and the Bledisloe Cup (and that Freedom Cup thingie), they would have staged an intervention.
“You’re drunk… again,” they would have said.
Well, here we are six weeks later, the champers has been popped and nobody’s giving you a second look as you skol straight from the bottle.
In the familiar surrounds of Eden Park, New Zealand Rugby’s bouncy castle of fun, the world was put right after the All Blacks’ most complete performance of the year.
Wasn’t it?
We should be happy shouldn’t we, feeling the mildly intoxicating effects of the Marque Vue after this bubbly conclusion to the Championship?
Or is that in fact Kool-Aid you’re drinking? Are you, like me, still a little torn?
