If you’re a New Zealand fan, the first session of day two will forever stand as one of the grisliest two hours of cricket you’ll witness.
If you’re in the Black Caps’ leadership group, on-field or off, it should stand as two of the most mortifying hours you’ll endure.
Awful.
Just sheer, unmitigated awfulness from the moment Brydon Carse tilted Tom Blundell to Jacob Bethell swaying out of the way of a Will O’Rourke quasi-bumper to signal the end of the session.
