TO ABUSE a well-worn sports-data cliché, at some point in the future Daryl Mitchell will regress to the mean.
At present, the raw, unsophisticated numbers put the 31 year old up there with the gods of the game. Mitchell, however, doesn’t bat like a god - more like somebody who’d mock those who waste their time worshipping false prophets.
