Producer Adam had just hit the big red “record” button to start the wheels rolling on another episode of The BYC when my phone lit up with an alert.

Wasn’t quite sure what to make of it as the first marimba notes of the theme tune started echoing through my earphones, but it was probably something selfish along the lines of, “Thanks a lot NZC for sending this release out the exact minute that New Zealand’s favourite specialty cricket podcast is starting!”
