Any thoughts on discussing the rise of the NZ National Basketball League? Goes from barely getting some games "broadcast" on Stuff to full coverage on Sky. I'm based in Wellington and Saints games are packed every game, and looks like other arenas are filling up too. It's one of our most popular high school sports (more than rugby) so wonder if there's some momentum building here? Still small steps but it's something
Both my boys play and it’s massive. And agree with the NBL, sure the quality isn’t super high but the atmosphere there is great. Far better than a Hurricanes game
Completely agree re the NHL playoffs. The first round is the best and can be quite unpredictable with plenty of upsets. In the NBA, there's probably only 4 teams that have a realistic chance to win but I'd say there's at least 8-10 NHL teams who could you say found win at the start of these playoffs. Go Canucks go!
The betting scandal is sad but not surprising. Having just spent some time in Ireland and USA gambling is everywhere. As has been discussed here it’s hard to come down hard on the players when you are taking piles of cash from these misery making companies
Suncorp had the women's State of Origin last night too, so that only adds to a heck of a workload for that sometimes-suboptimal surface.
How's this for a solo try, though?

Wow. How long is that stride? Awesome. Plus the little Campo goose at the start

Just a note that the EPL final day matches are 3am Monday, not Sunday.
Silver lake seems to be a poisoned chalice, not hearing any upside from where they have invested...
