Try as I might to be happy for Penrith, the overwhelming feeling I have is frustration that we had him, he wanted to stay, and we were too dumb to keep him. Sure, the Penrith Board have obviously empowered a culture of excellence at the Club but man, just look at how those players respond to Cleary after the match. They love that guy.

Good article on dynasties. Roosters best record over last 25 years . Broncos won in 2006 as well

Yep, great column. RL is booming there in Western Sydney. There are not enough grounds for the kids to play on! Throw in the competition of other sports driving performance and a population of roughly 2 mil out there, both Penrith and Parramatta should a force now and could be for awhile given strength of junior programmes out there at both clubs. What I have noted this week over here is that the strength of the off field management/governance people takes a lot of the pressures away from the coaching/playing group. Warriors need to get that right first and personally I am of the belief that is the clubs biggest weakness. And sadly I don’t have an answer about how to fix that other than to observe that forever hopeful that a group can!
