Thoroughly enjoyed your unique take on sports. Would love a podcast where you get to interview subjects for a good hour or so. Going deeper than the tabloids to see what really makes them tick.

Thank you Dylan for a year's worth of fantastic content! I always find myself dropping everything when I get the substack email with your name on it. I particularly enjoy deep diving down hyperlink rabbit-holes that you include in your articles. Keep up the amazing work
I'd say the ACC did a pretty good job of the social media aspect - that's how I first came across The Bounce, having earlier in the year stopped and noticed how much I enjoyed your cricket write-ups in the Herald. It might have taken me almost a year to subscribe because a) I'm a stingy bastard - they say that economists know the price of everything, but the value of nothing; and b) I kind of didn't think I was missing out on much given the free stuff coming through; but in the end it irked me too much that I couldn't read all of your cricket coverage, in particular. You are one of a few select writers I've found who both think critically and deeply about the game and can express it in an eloquent and humorous manner.
Maybe it's just cos I'm a bit tired but this hit me 'right in the feels', as the kids I teach would say. Thanks for your mahi- I'd add that it also feels good to be able to directly support a journo you've always enjoyed, rather than paying a broad subscription to fund dodgy clickbait bollocks.
A great first year. Just getting your eye in. The track will flatten from here and you’ll see gaps in the field all over the place. I’m proud The Bounce is on Substack.
Congrats Dylan, proud to say I've pretty much ready every bounce newsletter and consistently find myself nodding along as I read. Good Luck for the next year!
Awesome first year, enjoy your deep dive articles and the humour you infuse. Totally agree about UFC too, maybe I'm just not intelligent enough to understand it.
Newsletters such as yours are rare in my experience - credible and readable - something not taken lightly. Thoroughly enjoyed. A Champagne Supernova. Thank you
I always enjoy your newsletters Dylan, keep up the great work! Contrary to some, I do think you get the balance coverage of different sports right but you can't please them all!
Nice work Dyls, congrats on your first year. I reckon Viv has it spot on about owning your own business. Never really at work, never really on holiday.
Keep up the great work Dylan. FWIW I initially signed up thinking I'd only stick around for a short time while I was looking for something else to read... but don't intend on cancelling my subscription as really respect the quality and nature of the content (even the stuff on sports I don't personally follow). Easily the best NZ sports commentary/opinion out there and worth every penny!

Congratulations on a year! Definitely felt all of those things. It’s hard mahi but good mahi. All the best for many more years!
Thanks Dylan
It's been a pleasure to read and follow your personal leap into the unknown.
I'm really enjoying the newsletter, the variety and the personal twist you put on events.
Cheers
Rob

Congratulations on the year Dylan. My subscription is definitely money well spent.
