Rolling mauls are a bit of a blight on the game IMHO, it just seems impossible to stop them legally which seems wrong. On another note though, having watched more women's sport this year because of the free to air coverage (rugby and cricket), I've enjoyed the different skill set and rawness of play which they bring. The fact they feel (and are allowed to be) more authentic brings another dimension to the sport.

The fact the BlackCaps squads announcement has been postponed by 24 hours seems like it might be a story in itself.

It’s quite ironic that certain journs in the herald today had bit a go at the woman’s England team using the rolling maul to score try’s .. I’m quite sure nz womens team score two try’s from the rolling maul, it brings back all those times when our media would have a go at certain countries from the north using drooped goals to win rugby world cups, but when cater did it to help us win a semi final ..funny he was praised by our own media .. maybe the problem is actually the rolling maul, you can play to win not to entertain

Would be interesting to hear your thoughts (or Scotty's) on the reporting of the ABs past three wins - particularly given Scotty Stevenson's previous thoughts regarding friendly media. Some sections of the press (looking at you Gregor Paul) seem determined to push that narrative that all is fine and we are on the rise towards the RWC.

Think it’s fair to say certain media when it comes to our sports teams are cheerleaders .. particularly on sky .. you will find the coneys of this world will not be on sky .. it’s quite nice not to hear the same ex players talk about rugby .. here looking at you kirwan etc etc ..

I know you aren't a golf fan, but we have Lydia leading the Race to the CME Globe, Steven Alker leading the Schwab Cup and Ryan Fox falling short by a shot of overtaking Rory at the top of the DP Tour Rankings...
