Pretty sure Geordie has stated he's setting himself for the steeplechase. With his scintillating finish he's more of a chance to medal in that of he can hack the pace of the Africans early on.

With regard to streamers and live sport...

It's a two edged sword, as it gives minor sports at least some kind of platform (in my case MotoGP, Moto2 & Moto3) but we're seeing / have seen a push back in Oz against streamers like foxtel & stan owning the rights to 'Aussie sports' like international cricket, international rugby and tennis. Some of the FTA organisations partner with streamers for some of the games, but the die hard supporters are stuck with a choice of some events on FTA with ads, or paying for streaming on Amazon, Netflix etc (with ads !!).

And yes running 349 for the mile suggests his 1500 pb should be lower and shows he is in fantastic shape but that takes no account of the state of 1500 running now. Sam tanner couldn’t even get a start in that race!

Well the race is Oregon will give Geordie Beamish no thought considering the mile is not an Olympic event and he is not qualified for the 1500! For context his 1500 pb is 336. Now let’s looks at the last major events 1500 results - Tokyo Ingrebrigtsen won in 3.28, with a 331 being good for 7th, , at 2022 comm games 330 won it and remember Sam tanner ran 331 which was good enough for 6. Then at world champs last year , Josh Kerr won in 329, with 331 being good for 10th. What does this show, Geordie would need to run a 7 second pb plus beat the guys who won this week to be an outside chance for a medals. He would be insane to try and qualify then ram in the 1500. It would be nice if the nz media referred to him not qualifying in the 1500, especially as Geordie specifically stat d after winning at world indoors. Geordie is a real chance of a medal over the steeples, to suggest he has a chance in the 1500 is deluded!

Stand to be corrected here, but I'm pretty sure he told The Post's Marc Hinton he was weighing up 1500 for Paris.
