After seeing Rob Nichol everywhere in the media the last few weeks, interesting (and telling) that we haven't seen more from him on the Billy Guyton story. Looking after players post career seems fundamental to what the RPA should be doing, fighting about governance does not.
Watching the “crowds” and lopsided scores at super rugby this week then watching highlights of the last 16 of the European URC was humbling. Games in Italy, France and the home unions packed out with good rugby, singing and tight score lines jarred with the antipathy of the product in aus/NZ. Some big changes need to be made. For starters a fairer distribution of players. Give the force a few kiwi bench warmers… a few more fans may turn up when there is the prospect of a contest.
The topic of TV rights and sport on NZ TV is worth a deep dive on its own. A few years back Sky had everything cycling. Then Warner Bros got the Italian races and put them on their CGN app. Late last year they bricked CGN. Other countries managed to get the Italian races back on TV but not NZ.... this year all Sky has had is about half the Belgian races. It's a sad turn of events. We are really getting the worst of all worlds, as all those overseas options are geoblocked in NZ. Australia by comparison has them all....
The Warriors need not worry about Grand Finals until they win the Grand Final qualifier.
One thing is for certain though, if they keep their key players on the field, it will be a total failure not to make the Grand Final Qualifier again.
What I find most staggering is how easily we could be the only remaining unbeaten team in the competition. Even losing week one and holding off the Storm would currently see us sitting in 1st place.
I expect us to move into the Top 4 this week with a win over Manly and we won't move from there all season
I'm with Bryan Ashby- searched and searched again for Paris Roubaix on Sky fully expecting it to be shown given they have put a number of the Spring Classics on screen over the last few weeks (much appreciated) but....WTF!!! Who makes these decisions. Surely they know that with the numbers of mamils riding around, most high earning guys who can afford Sky, that's a perfect audience to target. Not to mention the increasing numbers of women riders who would love to see Paris Roubaix femme. Sport channels? Get with the times Sky programmers.

For sure. But Manly? If there's a team that trips us up, it's flipping Manly.
Going to be a huge ask for them to come to NZ and back up from the emotion of last week.
They are a great test. If we beat them it reinforces the fact we're one of the top teams.
